Yes absolutely - that's what "drop" does. From the fine manual:

"drop: This verb behaves like deny, except that an SMTP connection is
forcibly closed after the 5xx error message has been sent."

I'm interested to know what the pitfalls are using "drop". Right now, it
seems to roughly HALF our connection count as compared to deny...
