Summary: Specify specify server for SQL lookup
Product: Exim
Version: N/A
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: medium
Component: Lookups
AssignedTo: ph10@???
ReportedBy: ph10@???

In an environment where there are master and slave SQL servers, it may be
desirable to restrict updates to the master servers. The suggestion is to add
syntax to SQL lookups like this:
${lookup mysql{server=xxxx;UPDATE...}}
where xxxx is a host name that already appears in (in this case) mysql_servers,
so that the database and authentication data can be found. This feature would
have to be added to all of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Interbase. It may be
tidiest to write a common function that they can all call (at present they each
have an almost identical, but small, function). This wishlist item was
originally suggested by Warren Baker <warren@???>.
