Trying to guess the envelope recipient addresses after the mail has been
delivered to a mailbox and collected via POP3 is a fool's errand. Any
appearance of working is an illusion.

Unless, that is, you specifically arrange to write the recipient addresses
into an extra header, and configure getmail to read and interpret that header.
But whatever you do, don't use the To/Cc headers.
