This is NOT the best solution!
The best solution is to leave the E-Mail on a Server, and read them with
IMAP/POP3-leave-on-Server (but IMAP is better!).
And you don't need any change to your configuration (just say Exim to use
Maildir instead of MBox, maybe).
Of course, you need to configure an IMAP server, but it is not more difficult
as a POP3 server.
