That's the file I'm making my changes too. Again if type garbage in the file
and restart exim I get an error. Adding the smtp_banner didn't seem to do
anything. I checked there is only one place in the file the statement occurs.
I've also tried this and it seems to be there.
root@Kesh:/etc/exim4# exim -bP | grep banner
smtp_banner = TEST BLAH FOO BAR MOOF
Anything else I can try ?
