Yes, but my point, if any, is that cross-posting seems to be the standard, and
that *if* people leave -announce for that reason, then the standard is
further reinforced - not cross-posting ceases to be an option.
Since the exim-announce list description says
"This list is no longer gated into the exim-users list - you must explicitly
subscribe to this list if you wish to receive announce mail."
I respectfully ask that announcements not be cross-posted (not even by
Philip!), or that said paragraph be changed.
