What else can you do? You can't distribute a .o file. What have I
misunderstood here? Or do you mean *create* ucptable.c? In order to do
that, you need to have the Unicode data tables, and I really don't think
we need to distribute them with every copy of PCRE. Oh, and you need
Perl as well, so it isn't really on.

But I think I'm misunderstanding you...
