add a rewrite rule for it centrally, here's ours:
*@^[^.]+\$ \
"${lookup ldap {ldap:HOST_BASE?host?sub?\
(&(cn=${quote_ldap:$domain.uio.no})(host=*))}\
{$local_part@${lc:${domain}.uio.no}}fail}" Eh
as you can see, we use LDAP as our catalog of valid hostnames, and
HOST_BASE is the DN for that tree. you could use a dnsdb lookup
instead.
if you need to support more than one suffix, it gets pretty ugly.
