[exim] Exim Filter pipe command logging question?

Should a pipe command log exactly what's being passed to the pipe when a RE
is involved?

I.E.:
|/usr/local/sbin/dbmail-smtp -u ler -m $1 <ler@???> R=userforward
T=address_pipe S=7532 QT=3s DT=0s

Should that $1 be the actual piece that matched from the preceding IF
statement?

I would say yes, but others may differ.

This is 4.63 on FreeBSD.
