I make heavy use of NFS using the flock function and have had no issues or
corruptions with it. The only real issue with NFS in general is a higher
load.
One particular program I use has 36 modules to it constantly locking and
unlocking files. It runs pretty effecient with a lock timeout of two
minutes.

In Memory of Corporal Joe Lewis Rivera
Let us not forget Corporal Joe Lewis Rivera, casualty of the Vietnam
War. As a member of the Army, CPL Rivera served our country until
February 25th, 1970 in Kontum, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and
was not married. Joe died from small arms fire/grenade. His body was
recovered. Joe was born on December 1st, 1948 in Kermit, Texas.
CPL Rivera is on panel 13W, line 054 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in
Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.
