I found that greylistd does a great job.
We use Debian and found that the Debian package installs the greylistd
component into the exim config a bit too late to be really useful; its
best to greylist *after* tests like DNSBL, HELO verification, local
black/white listing, malware detection etc. No point in greylisting a
virus :)
