Summary: quit acl not currently suitable for suggested purpose
Product: Exim
Version: 4.63
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: low
Component: ACLs
AssignedTo: ph10@???
ReportedBy: dlugo@???
QAContact: exim-dev@???
The documentation states, for the quit acl:
"...This ACL can be used for tasks such as custom logging at the end
of an SMTP session. For example, you can use ACL variables in other
ACLs to count messages, recipients, etc., and log the totals at QUIT
time using one or more logwrite modifiers on a warn verb..."
Commonly, spammers and broken MTAs don't issue a QUIT, they just
close the TCP session.
What would be nice, is if the quit acl could be a more generic 'end of
smtp session' acl, with the reason for the session's end accessible in
some $value.
