Subject: [exim] pre-compile exim configuration
A feature that might be useful is
configuration file pre-compilation.

Since exim reads and processes its
config file so often (please correct
me if I'm wrong), it could be a worth-
while performance enhancement. First
step would be to profile process startup.

Any comments on whether this could
be worth the effort? Is there any
data out there that shows config
file processing performance profiles?

Alternatively, would it be possible
for a listening daemon to share its
configuration memory with its child
processes?

Is the code amenable to either modifi-
cation?
