Several threads in the past have led to the suggestion of a 'lookup daemon'
which isolates database-specific semantics from the main Exim code, and
provides advanced features such as multiple discrete addressable connections
to a single database type (would satisfy bug #169), load-balancing queries
across multiple servers, failover of queries from a main server to a standby.
