Is it really that hard? Maybe just adding an additional level in the queue
directory hierarchy could to this thing. Instead
{input,msglog}/[a-zA-Z0-9]/
it could be
{input,msglog}/$prio/[a-zA-Z0-9]/
with $prio as a number between 0 and n. To operate exim with one queue,
n could the always 0. If someone wants to queue within a different queue
a non-zero prio should be set in an ACL or filter. The queue prio is also
needed as option for the -q to limit exim to some queue-prios or to let
process all queue prios.
Ok, this is not *that* easy but does not sound like a "major re-design" for
me. Philip does add more advanced things from the wishlist every month
which I really appreciate.
