Yes, it is possible, but it's dead wrong, as has already been pointed out,
*unless* you do it after RCPT and the recipient is one that never sends mail
(and thus should never receive bounces), or you use BATV. I don't think
much "normal" spam uses empty senders, but some spammers abuse stupid servers
(like Exchange) by sending spam to nonexistent addresses. Those stupid
servers accept it and then bounce it back to the fake sender.
