Subject: [exim-dev] accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
I am using exim version 4.54 on linux with kernel
2.4.28.

Suddenly in logs the following problem starts to
occur, and this continues until i restart the exim
service.

This seems to be a problem with number of active
connection but the established connetions where almost
none.

the file descriptors opened in that case where normal
only 4.

When i connected the server exim didn't even send the
banners...

The point from where the problem started...

50 accept() failures: Socket operation on non-socket
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor
1 accept() failure: Bad file descriptor

the last msg continued until the exim was restarted
