Your suggested feature is only necessary if you want to check aliasing of
two addresses neither of which have anything to do with the sender or the
recipient. About the only case I can think of where you might want to do
this is when checking addresses in the message header, but that could
probably be done better by adding more flexible verification of header
addresses.
