Could I suggest you read also the README.Debian.gz file, it's in the
/usr/share/doc/exim4-base/ directory.

For this you should update /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf and run
update-exim4.conf or run dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config and answer the
questions.
