I modified the /etc/default/exim4 file like this:
QUEUERUNNER='separate'
SMTPLISTENEROPTIONS='-oX '0.0.0.0.465' -tls-on-connect -oP
/var/run/exim4/exim.pid'
It seems working fine now.
