VIRTUAL_DOMAINS and ALIAS_DOMAINS are macros that are used by the
vexim2 config of exim. So you either forgot to define them, or you
defined them at the wrong place. You need to be defined _before_ they
are used of course ;)
Please review your config and look where you defined those macros.
I am running exim/vexim/courier on my mailserver too and personally
I have found using the debian specific configuration of exim very
confusing, therefor I have switched back to a monolithic, handcrafted
configfile for exim, where I added the vexim configuration.
