Subject: [exim] clear ssl state after server was down
Hi all

I use exim 4.50 as SMTPS Server and my users use Microsoft Outlook (many versions) as mail clients.

Sometimes when the server was down and then after it’s up, some users can send/receive mail normally but some users don’t.

The user who can’t send the mail will receive the error message from Outlook ‘Your Outgoing (SMTP) Server does not support SSL-Secured Connections….’.

I found from some forums that other mail system such as Gmail has the same problem and they suggest to Clear SSL State in the Internet Explorer to solve the problem. It’s also works with my mail system, but I wonder what causes the SSL problem when the server is down. Who knows about this problem, please help explain to me.

Thank you

Tong
