Yes, in the initial section of the file where the general configuration
settings go.

Correct.

However it isn't really necessary to use this option - it's perfectly
normal for an email server's host name to be unrelated to the mail
ddomains that it hosts. For example, the MX target for dotat.at is
mx.cam.ac.uk, and the various machines behind the name identify themselves
as ppsw-N.csi.cam.ac.uk for various N. The machines host a couple of
hundred similar virtual domains.
