As you noticed yourself, this is not possible.
But I limit these callouts to connections on port 25, while MUAs should
only connect to 587 (and AUTH there):

rfc1413_hosts = ${if eq{$interface_port}{25} {*}{}}
rfc1413_query_timeout = 2s

If you separate MX and relay servers this is not a problem, anyway.
