hi all,
ok, i've done something stupid ... and can't for the life of me figure out what.
exim-snapshot, built on OSX 10.4.2 is running fine.
daemon starts, stops & ... and until today ... HUPs just fine.
however, now when HUP the daemon, the log complains:
2005-09-12 17:47:32 pid 5532: SIGHUP received: re-exec daemon
2005-09-12 17:47:32 socket bind() to port 25 for address 10.0.0.6 failed:
Permission denied: waiting 30s before trying again (9 more tries)
2005-09-12 17:48:02 socket bind() to port 25 for address 10.0.0.6 failed:
Permission denied: waiting 30s before trying again (8 more tries)
2005-09-12 17:48:32 socket bind() to port 25 for address 10.0.0.6 failed:
Permission denied: waiting 30s before trying again (7 more tries)
...
ticking down 10 times, and eventually the daemon quits.
google & FAQ confirm -- as per above -- that it's likely a permissions issue
... but i *thought* I'd checked/set everything correctly.
apparently not, eh? the maddening thing is that it *was* working, and i'm not
aware of any changes that should've affected it ...
which likelu means i screwed something up somewhere.
argh.
any add'l wison/pointers to share?
thx!
richard
