I do not propose to enter into this discussion. I merely wanted to point
out that it has been held several times already, in a possibly more
appropriate forum (the 822 list). It always ends up in a rathole, and
eventually dies without any consensus. Comments such as the one you made
above tend to cause responses of the form "but on all MY lists the
culture is the other way round".
