Ok, um, well, I swore I had restarted exim since that seems an obvious
thing to do, but now I'm getting different errors. (In case I forgot to
mention it, I'm using TLS as well)
For one thing, I get:
2005-08-17 17:13:51 SMTP protocol violation: synchronization error
(input sent without waiting for greeting): rejected connection from
H=some.host.com [ip.address.goes.here] input="\200F\001\003"
before the actual authentication info is transmitted. Then, after
username and password *are* transmitted, I get:
2005-08-17 17:14:00 plain authenticator failed for some.host.com
(some.other.host.com) [ip.address.goes.here]: 535 Incorrect
authentication data
I tried the sasl test program to make sure it's working and
authenticating users correctly, and it appears to be.
