Does Exim cache a failed (socket reset) call to SpamD?

Exim caches SpamD-SpamAssassin "results" throughout a
message to avoid calling it twice.

What about if the first call encounters a socket error
or some other failure type result? Will a second reference
to Spam cause a retry or will the failure still be the result?

Will /defer_ok change any of this?

Any other switches/modifiers matter?
