This 'match' expression is wrong. You are matching against single digits,
but as it stands the '\.' will be interpreted as any character as well
because the second argument is expanded.

Try using:

match{$sender_helo_name}{\N^\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\N}
