An upgrade between minor versions is usually seamless - build the new
binary and 'make install'.
Check the changelogs to make sure there's nothing there which might
impact your installation - however, there are very, very few cases
when an upgrade would cause trouble.
If you're upgrading from Exim 3.x to 4.x, you'll find scripts to help
you in the distribution; if you're a Debian user you should check out
http://www.exim.org/eximwiki/Exim3Status
