[exim] maildirs with virtual users

I need to build a mail configuration where virtual users are validated
from a ldap server and mail is delivered into maildirs. Is there way
to ensure that the user home directory gets created the first time
mail is delivered into the maildir? This would allow users to simply
be created in the ldap directory, without having additional
configuration neccesary on the mail server.
