A lot depends on how many users you have. At work, (where we use an
MTA written in-house), we have some customers with hundreds (or thousands)
of users. At that scale, expecting every user to correctly configure
their email client for the disclaimer, just doens't work. And what if
you want to update the disclaimer? Every user then needs to muck with
their local client. Those customers tend to use the disclaimer feature
we offer.

While I personally would never use a disclaimer myself, there are cases
they are better handled in the MTA, not the MUA.
