No it won't. Exim's main overhead from the point of view of providing
service is per connection, not per command or per message. Therefore you
don't need to worry so much about resource usage after a connection has
been established. In order to control connections, use smtp_accept_max,
smtp_accept_reserve, smtp_reserve_hosts, and perhaps
smtp_accept_max_per_host.

Load spec.txt into an editor and use the search facility. These options
are all in the main configuration section.
