And just to throw fuel on the fire:

Premise: If its an automated response, you can have an automated reply.

C/R systems are nothing more than a more proactive (and anti-social)
version of greylisting.
Greylisting says 'we don't trust you, but you can convince us by
behaving nicely. C/R systems
Just change the definition of 'behaving nicely'.

Greylisting only works currently because it is not ecomonically sensible
for a spammer to
Behave nicely with every MTA it meets. Its easier just to go on and find
an MTA that will
accept the mail. If the solution becomes more popular, then it will
eventually become more
Worthwhile to manage C/Rs or greylisted responses properly, and *then*
send you spam.

Look at previous discussions on this list to see why greylisting has to
be viewed as a
short term to the problem. C/R has to be viewed as the same short term
solution, only with
the added problem of collateral spam thrown in.
