This is a bug in the recipient site: they don't understand bounce
messages. This is distresstingly common, and there's little you can do
about it. The most egregious example I have seen recently is:
response to "MAIL FROM:<>" from mail.coneagle.com [65.193.87.20] was: 504 must have rcptto first
