Subject: [exim] timeouts
Hi,

I'm seeing something weird going on with my fallback MX (exim 4.33):

2004-12-31 10:03:52 1CkJdQ-0006Z6-JV <= rmk@??? H=(caramon.arm.linux.org.uk) [2002:d412:e8ba::1] I=[2002:c35c:f9fc::1]:25 P=asmtp S=2311 id=20041231100037.A29868@??? for james4765@???
2004-12-31 10:04:16 1CkJdQ-0006Z6-JV Spool file is locked (another process is handling this message)

2004-12-31 10:07:01 1CkJgT-0007C4-UL <= <> R=1CkJdQ-0006Z6-JV U=exim P=local S=3223 for rmk@???

2004-12-31 10:07:03 1CkJgT-0007C4-UL => rmk+james4765=verizon.net@??? R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp S=3301 H=caramon.arm.linux.org.uk [2002:d412:e8ba::1] C="250 OK id=1CkJgV-0001Rj-AS"
2004-12-31 10:07:03 1CkJgT-0007C4-UL Completed

As you can see, it appears that it's taken about 3 minutes between message
submission and the message bouncing for "connection timed out". In our
retry database, there exists the following record corresponding to this
host:

10-Dec-2004 05:12:56 16-Dec-2004 22:31:49 17-Dec-2004 06:31:49 *
T:relay.verizon.net:206.46.170.12 110 333 Connection timed out

Even so, shouldn't the message be retried for more than 3 minutes?
(Alternatively, maybe verizon is just broken at the moment...)
