Thanks for responding. Yes, I'm sure; this is an Ubuntu Linux system,
and "sendmail" is exim4.
peter@ariel:~ $ ls -l `which sendmail`
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 2004-12-27 22:30
/usr/sbin/sendmail -> exim4
