[exim] Amount of requests to other daemon/program

Hi,

I use exim 3.35 (Debian Woody) with amavis for spam and virus checks. Is
it possible to configure exim this way, that it will only call a
specified amount of amavis-childs at one time?

Example: Amavis is running with 6 childs, exim is using 5 and monit
(process monitoring) is checking with the 6th child if amavis is
running.

So far, my RTFM was not sucessfull.
