I'm playing with interesting tricks to use Squirrelmail plugins to
create files that Exim processes as personal configuration settings. I'm
just posting this for feedback and to see if anyone else is interested
in this or has done something similar.
What I'm doing is using squirrelmail and plugins to create text files
the Exim can read and process as personal block lists and personal
whitelists. I have that working and trying to add a personal Exim filter.
What Squirrelmail gives me is the ability to authenticate a user and to
create personal files associated with that user that Exim can read. I'm
not much of a programmer - but I started with the Squirrelmail
block_sender plugin and made Exim read that file and use it as a
personal blocklist. And it was rather easy to do.
Then - I copied and modified that plugin to make a personal white list.
Basically - just changing the name of the file it wrote to and the
screen prompts was most of the modification process.
So - has anyone done anything like this and is anyone interested in
trying it out once I get it done? So far it works well for me and I'm
willing to share it if there's any interest.
