Hi Philip!

Thanx, I will try the "delay_after_cutoff " option. But what amazes me: Most
of the messages are for accounts on the 'same' machine (localhost) which is
bouncing them.

e.g. I send a message from my workstation to our office mailer for a
collegue and it bounced back straight away. I am most certain that these do
not fall in the '4 of 5 days unavailable' scenario.

What usually happend:
    - I send a message to a recipient sending me a message.
    - It bounces right back to me.
    - I send another messages to the same recipient within the same minute.
No problems, delivered promptly without errors.

note: Some of these recipients I communicate with on daily bases, others
less frequent, both fail.

Can I somehow send some debug info into syslog explaining me what info exim
is retrieving from is retry database or something?

by,
Chris
