I don't want to drag this nonsense out any more than necessary, but I feel
compelled to point out that Peter *was* being helpful, as he has been
frequently on this list. You are not.
What he wrote was *not* a rude RTFM and it was important that someone
pointed out bad (if well-intentioned) advice especially to someone new.
I'd already given some (hopefully) helpful suggestions and if Peter didn't
feel the need to repeat that, fair enough. I only hope the OP has not been
put off or got a bad impression of this mailing list as a consequence of
the flurry of nonsense his post has spawned, and that Peter is not put off
continuing to contribute to the list.
Can that be the end of it? (It's certainly my first & last comment on the
matter).
