This true, but your MTA is not the right place to cope with
it. It might look neat for a single system. Think about some,
or hundreds. You´ll soon notice that what you´re talking about
is a parameter that´s one layer beneath exim and that SNMP or
equivalents are the right attempt for the job.

In todays computing setups, there has to be one single point
of intelligence in terms of decision making for the whole
environment. That´s the administrator. Everthing else is going
NOT to work until software "intelligence" is capable of
reacting with having the complete picture "in mind".

So Greg, you´re a couple of years ahead of our time :-)
