Hi Guys

I've been mulling this one over for a while and before I start trying to
figure out if its possible I thought I'd check if its already been done.

I run a small company exim mailserver with around 50 virtual users. At
the moment when these users are about to go on vacation they email me to
let me know when they are away until and I then setup their .forward
file appropriately (I also then have to remember to remove their
vacation at the right time).

Obviously as the compnay scales this is not a task I want to have to do
manually, the ideal situation would be to allow users to set their own
vacation response and away/back status. My first thoughts were that it
would be cool to be able to email onvacation@somedomain or
offvacation@somedomain with the body of the message being used to set
the message and the sender being the user who's email is affected. If
you needed security you could have a keyword in the subject or somesuch
thing. My second thought was that maybe someone has coded a webpage
version along the same idea.

Does anyone know if either of these have been done, if not does anyone
think it is practical for somone with basic python skills (myself) to
have a go or is this not a small project ?

Any help advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Simon
