Y Use tls_interfaces instead. This would work exactly like interfaces,
except that it would automatically do tls on startup (defaulting to SMTPS
port instead of SMTP port)

interfaces? no. but ports.

How about

daemon_smtp_ports = smtp (default)
daemon_tls_smtp_ports = ssmtp (default)
