I do the same thing as you, but for different reasons which are
unimportant here.
I think that before 4.40, being more efficient with LDAP was an issue,
but these days its not so much of a problem; LDAP queries are supposed
to be cache in a better way now, so doing two identical lookups won't
result in two LDAP queries, just one and a cached reply?
