This is what I use:
acl_smtp_rcpt = acl_check_rcpt
...
begin acl
...
acl_check_rcpt:
accept hosts = :
accept hosts = +relay_from_hosts
accept authenticated = *
And then I begin my checks with dnsbl's, helo checks, etc.
