i concur, _but_,

i am running fc1 and fc2 systems side by side, and both releases
are currently being maintained by the fedora project. critical
updates are beingannounced for both, simultaneously.

fedoralegacy.org is even supplying updates for rh 8 and 9, and
when the main fedora project drops fc1, i would anticipate that
fedoralegacy will pick it up.

so i don't think your representation is 100% accurate.
