[Exim] mail from localhost fails ...

sorry the stupid question.

i've running a new server with exim as smtp server.
that's the 20th server. but on this server i'm unable
to send a mail via "mail username@domain".

there are no entries in any logfile.

could someone show me a way to go or to test?
