I use Spamassassin with exiscan (+Clamav) and have never had a problem. I
have tested it numerous times with 10,000 mail flood. Having never used SA,
I can't say what SA can do that you might need that Exiscan can't. I know
this doesn't answer your question.

I have ran spamd with exiscan but it doesn't output the reports in a easy
format for my users to see.
I am running clamd on the box with exiscan but I am using sa-exim with spamd
for the report/ attachment option.
