[Exim] How Exim set the time outs?

I have a question, so if some one knows the answer, please let me know.

I have in my configuration 2 LDAP servers, so If one fails, then it try
the second:
ldap_default_servers = sql1::389 : localhost::389

The question is how long Exim will wait after the first server cannot
be reached?
Is there a timeout there? Can we configure this timeout?
